Eight fire departments from around the area responded to a house fire at 3104 Searles Avenue on Monday evening.
At least one box alarm was called after a fire that started on the first floor of the home quickly spread through the house and into the second floor. The resident of the home tried to put out the blaze with a fire extinguisher, but when that failed, they left the home and called for help.
It took firefighters about 20 minutes to put the fire out. Crews are still searching for the cause.
