Winnebago County Forest Preserves closing during hunting season

WINNEBAGO COUNTY (WREX) -

Five preserves in the Winnebago County Forest Preserve District will during specific dates in November and December for deer shotgun season.

Seward Bluffs, Pecatonica Wetlands, Pecatonica River, Laona Heights, and Sugar River Forest Preserves will be closed on November 16, 17, 18, 29, and 30, as well as on December 1 and 2.

Equestrian trails in those preserves and in the Deer Run, Oak Ridge, and Rotary Forest Preserves will also be closed on those dates.

The preserves and trails are closing due to hunting activity on properties surrounding the preserves and trails.
