Wisconsin company recalling beef tongues - WREX.com – Rockford’s News Leader

Black Earth Meat Market is recalling about 99 pounds of beef tongue because the tonsils may not have been completely removed.
Tonsils must be removed from food intended for human consumption to avoid exposure to mad cow disease.
Various size cases of Black Earth Meats Natural Beef Tongues and Black Earth meats Local Beef Tongues made by to company on October 8, 11, 17, and 18 are involved in the recall. They were shipped to a restaurant in Wisconsin and a distributor in Illinois.
According to the USDA, there are no signs that any of the slaughtered cattle used by the company had the disease.
