Rockford man arrested by Belvidere police on drug charges

BELVIDERE (WREX) -

A 37-year-old Rockford man has been charged with two counts of unlawful delivery of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a public park after a four-month investigation.

Derrick L. Lewers was arrested in the 3000 block of Pleasant View Avenue in Rockford on November 8 by Belvidere Police Narcotic Detectives and Rockford patrol officers. Cocaine, cash, and a car were seized during the arrest.

Lewers was released from the Boone County Jail after posting a $100,000 (10%) bond. Additional charges and arrests are possible.
