Rockford police arrest man for gas station murder

ROCKFORD (WREX) -

One of three men charged with killing a Rockford teen at the Auburn Street BP in May has been arrested.

Dwayne C. Buchanan was shot multiple times around 8:00 p.m. on May 22, 2012. Police charged three men in the murder, 25-year-old Martell Buckley, 22-year-old Rico Jefferson, and 24-year-old Russell Jefferson.

Rico Jefferson was arrested for the crime around 3:15 p.m. on November 8 at a residence in the 900 block of West Street.

Buckley was already in the Winnebago County Jail on an unrelated weapons charge and was served his copy of the complaints there. He has pleaded not guilty.
