OSF St. Anthony introduces 12 new therapy dogs

OSF St. Anthony Medical Center held a celebration Thursday to welcome 12 of its newest staff members.

Cinder, Gucci, Jude, Mercedes, Molly, Morgan, Riley, Roby, Rowdy, Sid, Spanky, and Tank have passed temperament testing and a mandatory training program to become the hospital's newest therapy dogs. The dogs will help patients and their families relieve stress, anxiety, and even grieving.

OSF St. Anthony is the first hospital in the area to offer animal-assisted therapy to patients.
