Future projects allow partnerships with small business owners

Rockford area small business owners get a chance to work with much larger companies.

Rockford Mass Transit District and Rock Valley College co-hosted a free business to business exchange.  Minorities, women and small business owners are able to network and possibly create partnerships with large construction companies on projects coming to the Rockford area in 2013.

Georgina Heard, Manager of Planning & Public Engagement for the Illinois Department of Transportation, "We're excited about bringing these firms together because its an opportunity for small firms and the primes to learn about the construction projects being planned for the area."

Attendees took part in a seminar and several vendor booths were set up, including the Illinois Tollway.
