Former Klehm executive director speaks out

The woman who used to be in charge at Klehm Arboretum speaks out for the first time about why she left.

Jane Snively says she was fired from the position in August, after working as Klehm's executive director since 2007. After she left, the Board of Directors would not comment about Snively's departure, other than she was leaving to pursue other opportunities. However, Snively says that is not what happened.

"I'm really not sure of the exact reason I was let go at Klehm," she says. "I know there was a clash between the Board of Directors and my style, but overall we all want the same things for Klehm. It's a beautiful place and a fabulous community asset, and why we couldn't work together to move it forward, I really don't understand and I regret."

Klehm Board President Alise Howlett says they have a committee in place to search for the new executive director. Repeated calls to the woman in charge of that committee have not been returned.
