WREX in Rockford, IL is currently seeking a Chief Engineer for a full-time opening to work in a modern broadcast facility.

The successful candidate will be able to combine solid leadership with a hands-on approach and engineering IT management skills for a dominant full power television station. The successful candidate will maintain the digital TV transmitter, broadcast operations and production center technical facility and equipment.

Candidate will also serve as project manager on technical upgrades for all engineering and facilities installations; supervises staff, maintenance of facilities, and technical broadcast operations for television, including master control and transmitter facilities. 

Qualifications include strong broadcast equipment maintenance and repair experience, significant IT skills, ability to trouble shoot and problem solve, knowledge of FCC rules and good communication skills.

We're looking for someone with the ability to oversee and interact with IT based workflow in an automated environment. Digital transmitter experience is required. Good communication skills in a fast paced news environment and professional appearance a must.
