Panel members are ready to consider who will be the next U.S. Magistrate Judge for Northern Illinois.
Chief Judge James Holderman appointed 8 people to consider qualified candidates. 2 of those people are required to not be lawyers. By January 15, the panel will have to submit their recommendations. The new Magistrate Judge is expected to take the bench in April, replacing P. Michael Mahoney. He is retiring at the end of this year.
