If you or your family are in the market for a furry friend, Winnebago County Animal Services could have the pet for you.
Animal Services received 37 cats and kittens just Thursday evening and there are over 80 for adoption at their various locations. In an effort to find these cats good homes, the adoption fee for felines has been reduced to $5 each, with one cat per household. The reduced fee is available through October 20, 2012.
The adult dog adoption fee has also been reduced to $50 this month. That fee is valid through the end of October.
All adoptions include a wellness exam, age appropriate vaccinations, spay or neuter, microchip, worming, flea and tick preventative, and a bag of food. New owners must past a screening process and have a good history of rabies vaccination and registration for existing or past pets and little to no animal complaints.
The animals available for adoption can be viewed at www.wcasrock.org. Winnebago County Animal Services' main location is at 4517 North Main Street in Rockford. They also have off-site adoption centers inside the Machesney Park Petsmart and Terri's Aqualand stores in Loves Park and Roscoe.
