WINNEBAGO COUNTY (WREX) -
A two-week investigation by Winnebago County Sheriff's deputies resulted in 12 arrests for public indecency and one for battery.
The undercover investigations were carried out in response to public indecency complaints in several forest preserves in Winnebago County. The following arrests were made at the following locations:
Blackhawk Springs Forest Preserve on October 2:
- Carl E. Steele, 78, Rockford - Public Indecency, Resisting a Police Officer
- David E. Walters, 71, Rockford - Public Indecency
- David W. Miller, 39, Savanna - Public Indecency
Kieselburg Forest Preserve on October 3:
- Dennis M. Klaas, 58, Roscoe - Public Indecency
- Allen F. Beohm, 60, Roscoe - Public Indecency
Espenscheid Forest Preserve on October 4:
- Frank D. Barraco, 67, Rockford - Public Indecency
- Matt W. Powers, 34, Rockford - Public Indecency
Blackhawk Springs Forest Preserve on October 4:
- Cesar R. Rodriguez, 37, Rockford - Public Indecency
Kishwaukee Gorge Forest Preserve on October 5:
- Kevin D. Nitz, 56, Rockford - Public Indecency
- Robert F. Leonhardt, 56, Rockford - Public Indecency
Espenscheid Forest Preserve on October 8:
- David H. Lockett, 55, Rockford - Battery
- Robert Martinez-Ruvalcaba, 41, Cherry Valley - Public Indecency
Kieselburg Forest Preserve on October 8:
- Brad L. Nelson, 56, Roscoe - Public Indecency
The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office will continue to address related activity as needed.
