Rockford man arrested for selling heroin

ROCKFORD (WREX) -

A tip to the Rockford Police Department's Narcotics Unit led to the arrest of a 28-year-old Rockford man for delivery of heroin.

Christopher R. Owens was arrested in the 1100 block of West Street after a lengthy investigation by the Narcotics Unit and Community Services Unit. Several grams of suspected heroin and money were recovered during his arrest.

Owens was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail on $500,000 bond. He faces the following charges:

  • Unlawful delivery of heroin less than one gram
  • Unlawful delivery of one to fifteen grams of heroin
  • 2 counts of Unlawful delivery of one to fifteen grams of heroin within 1,000 feet of a church
  • Delivery of heroin less than one gram within 1,000 feet of a church
