Boy Scouts host Champion of Youth award luncheon - WREX.com – Rockford’s News Leader

The Blackhawk Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America gave out two Champion of Youth awards during a luncheon on Wednesday.
The award honors community leaders who have positive impacts on children and the community through volunteer work.
Vicki Benson, who helped establish Rosie's Birthday Club and Young Women Leadership Development programs in area high schools, was the first recipient. Illinois Children's Home & Aid was also recognized, for their EPIC program and MotherHouse.
The proceeds from the lunch support the Scoutreach program.
