Tinker Swiss Cottage doesn't just offer a view into the lives of a 19th century family, some say spirits from that time still live there.
The team from the popular SyFy network show "Ghost Hunters" visited the cottage in July to discover if there is truth behind those rumors. The museum will be featured on an October 24 episode of the show.
To celebrate, Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum & Gardens is throwing a viewing party that night featuring guest speakers John Borowski, a Chicago filmmaker, and Jeff Mudgett, author and great-great grandson of serial killer Dr. H.H. Holmes. The event will be held October 24 at Veterans Memorial Hall from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The public is welcome and admission will be $5 per person.
Tinker Swiss Cottage is located at 411 Kent Street in Rockford. Tours are available Tuesday through Sunday at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. They also offer special Paranormal Tours. For more information, visit their website.
