Residents of Winnebago, Boone and Ogle Counties take advantage of the opportunity to see where their trash goes.
Orchard Hills Landfill hosts an open house to offer people an inside look into operations. Folks received a bus tour along with displays of the landfill liner, gas collection and final capping.
They also took advantage of a free lunch, give-away and activities for kids.
Orchard Hills is run by Veolia Environmental Services.
