Supporters gather to kick off the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women campaign.
Planners of Go Red for Women invited people out to learn about the program, and come up with a game plan. The goal of the campaign is to spread the word, especially to women, about heart health.
"Educating women, and letting them know that one in three women are victims of cardiovascular disease," is one of the most important things for the campaign, according to Valerie Tippitt with the American Heart Association.
"We need to spread the word so we're making sure that our children, our mothers, our grandmothers are all being taken care of, and looking at what the issues might be for their own health," Go Red for Women Luncheon Chair Rebecca Epperson said.
The next Go Red for Women luncheon will be on February 20.
