Verdict in for Belvidere man accused of attempted murder

A Belvidere man accused of running over two people with a car when he was 19 has been found not guilty on two counts of attempted first degree murder.

Christian Antczak was accused of running Kriston Martin and Jessica Leanos in 2010 and then fleeing the scene. Antczak was 19 at the time. Investigators say he, Martin, and Leanos had gotten into a fight at a party earlier that evening.

Although Antczak was found not guilty of attempted murder, he was found guilty of two counts of aggravated battery. He's scheduled to be sentenced on December 14.
