Oregon school district gets $10,000 grant for math education


Local farmers teamed up to nominate Oregon CUSD 220 for a $10,000 grant to support math and science education.

The grant is from America's Farmers Grow Rural Education, which is sponsored by the Monsanto Fund. Farmers nominate a public school district to compete for grants that will enhance math and or science education.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to expose our students to the connection between green energy and agriculture," Oregon High School Assistant Principal Andrew Nelson said. "This grant is the seed that we hope will grow into a program that positions us as a leader among other high schools."

The grant will have will support the Growing and Going Green Project.
