Rockford Park District celebrating National Visit a Park Day


With temperatures expected to dip into the upper 40s this weekend, today is the perfect day to take advantage of our local parks.

The Rockford Park District is joining districts across the country to celebrate National Visit a Park Day. The day is meant to encourage people to visit local, state, regional, and national parks and enjoy the outdoors.

Locally, people in the Rockford area can visit one of the Rockford Park District's 176 park and facility sites. Local parks range in size from the Anna Page Conservation Forest's 942.90 acres to Joe Marino Park's .41 acres. In all, Rockford Park District properties have 4,896 acres of land that covers 125 square miles.
