Program introduces young people engineering

Some kids know exactly what they want to be when they grow up. Others, have to do a little exploring.

The Engineering Exploring Program held an open house tonight. The program introduces the various engineering careers to kids and young adults between the ages of 14 and 20. UTC Aerospace system employees help organize the program, and take time to explain what it is like to be an engineer.

"They kind of see it on TV or hear their dad's friend is an engineer but they don't know what it is and so they don't really know if it's something they want to pursue. And it may be their favorite thing they've ever done. They may have always been an engineer and just didn't know it," said Program Advisor Nick Wlaznik

The engineering program holds meeting every other week from now until March.
