Although the Go Nuts! Golf Play Day may have a funny name, it raises awareness for a serious cause.
Golfers gathered at the Timber Pointe Golf Club Wednesday to raise money and awareness for testicular cancer and men's health. The proceeds from the outing go toward the Healing Pathways Cancer Resource Center and the YMCA Livestrong Program.
"I am a four-year testicular cancer survivor, and I decided that when I got healthy, I wanted to do something to give back to help other people going through a similar situation," Go Nuts Volunteer Coordinator Paul Arco says. "So we created an event that raises awareness about testicular cancer and about men's health."
This was the fourth year for the event.
