Winnebago asks for public input in superintendent search

The Winnebago School Board is asking for the public's help in their search for a new superintendent.

Current Superintendent Dennis Harezlak will retire in June 2013 and the search is on for his replacement. In an effort to find a suitable candidate, District 323 has released a survey to ask the community which talents or expertise they should look for in a future superintendent.

The new superintendent will be the executive officer for the district and will be in charge of the administration and management of the schools in the district. Their primary responsibility will be to plan, organize, and evaluate educational programs and facilitate the implementation of those programs.

Hard copies of the survey can be found at in the office of all four schools in Winnebago, First National Bank and Trust, German American State Bank in Winnebago and Seward, and U.S. Bank. Completed surveys should be sent in a sealed envelope to the Winnebago School District Office at 304 East McNair Road, Winnebago, IL 61088. They should be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 5.

The survey can also be found and completed online by clicking here.
