The City of Rockford has released an update on the resurfacing of several roads in town.
Work began on Broadway the week of September 4. The street is being resurfaced from 11th Street to 20th Street and will also get a new storm sewer at 14th Street, intermittent curb and sidewalk replacement, traffic signal upgrades at 20th Street and new bituminous surface.
Those that live along Broadway will still have access to their driveway with the exception of the replacement of new drives and sidewalks. There may also be a minimal disruption during various underground utility operations. Residents will be notified prior to those occasions. Work is expected to be finished by Halloween.
Highcrest Road from Chelsea Avenue to the south entrance of the Highcrest Shopping Center and Springbrook Road from Springcreek to Imperial Oaks Drive are also being resurfaced. Both roads will only be open to local traffic. This portion of the resurfacing project is scheduled to begin on October 3 and finish by October 26.
