If you want to help others get back up on their feet, get on yours.
That is the message from Carpenter's Place, a Rockford resource for homeless adults. Tuesday the group kicked off its "Walk for the Homeless" month. Organizers are asking people to walk and collect donations for Carpenter's, so it can continue to provide services for people that need help finding a home or a job. Their goal is $100,000.
Carpenter's Place Executive Director Kay Larrick says, "it really benefits everyone in Rockford. When you help the homeless, you really help the whole community."
