Construction to begin on Jefferson Street Bridge Friday

ROCKFORD (WREX) -

Those who frequently take the Jefferson Street Bridge might want to rethink their normal route.

Lane closures on the bridge will begin on Friday, October 5. The bridge will undergo partial and full-depth deck patching and sidewalk repairs. Construction is expected to be finished on or before November 16.

The bridge will be open to traffic during the construction, but drivers are urged to use extreme caution when driving through the construction area.
