Canine Corners at Olson Park is getting a $2,000 boost thanks to a grant from the Nutro Company.
The Nutro Company's ROOM TO RUN Dog Park Appreciation Grant will be used to make improvements to Canine Corners in order to provide local dogs with a better space to interact.
The winning application for the grant was submitted by Rockford resident Sue Razbadouski, and Canine Corners Coordinator Nathan Minarich will help facilitate the improvements to the park.
"The benefits dog parks possess are simply endless," Minarich said. "To highlight a few, they give people the opportunity to get out of the office or house, relieve stress, enjoy the beauties nature provides us, take in the fresh air and enjoy time with our four-legged friends."
Thirty dog parks around the country will receive grants from the ROOM TO RUN program this year.
