Rockford man shot during robbery attempt - WREX.com – Rockford’s News Leader

A 21-year-old Rockford man was shot in the leg during a struggle with a man trying to rob him.
The victim was approached by the suspect in the 1600 block of Overnene Avenue around 2:42 a.m. Sunday. The suspect pointed a gun at the victim's head and demanded his things. The two struggled and that's when the gun went off.
Police are looking for a black male, 23-30yrs, 5'6-5'10, black/gray striped hooded sweatshirt, black jeans.
