The Rock River Valley United Way trains organization that wants funding. Friday afternoon, nonprofit groups met at the Rock River Valley Blood Center. There United Way leaders taught them about the mission of their organization and how to get new program funding.
"Not everybody is designed for United Way funding and so it kind of gives them an idea to see, does their program fit? And it is a very lengthy process and an intense process and competitive. So it kind of gives them an idea to see 'should we really ask for the dollars that are so pertinent to our community?'" says Heather Ayer, United Way Community Building Manager.
The formal application process begins November 5, 2012. You can find more by contacting United Way of Rock River Valley 612 North Main Street, Suite 300, Rockford, IL 61103 or call (815) 986-4839.
