Illinois moves forward with Peotone airport project

The State of Illinois takes a major step forward with a south suburban airport.

Federal decision- makers now have a draft layout for that proposal in Peotone. It's been talked about for decades.  Illinois Transportation Secretary, Ann Schneider, calls this the biggest step yet towards reality. 

Supporters say as a 3rd Chicago area airport it will ease congestion at O'Hare and Midway. Community leaders in our area have argued for years, that 3rd airport already exists:  Rockford.
