ROCKFORD (WREX) - A man who plead guilty in a Rockford home invasion will spend decades in prison.

Luis Avila, 23, received a sentence of 28 years for home invasion, and six years for aggravated unauthorized use of a weapon.

It was May 25, 2011, when the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department got the call for a home invasion on Atwood Avenue in Rockford.   They say multiple suspects fled the home, but they did catch Avila.
