UPDATE: Elderly woman found dead, case now being called murder

ROCKFORD (WREX) -

ROCKFORD (WREX) - The Rockford Police Department now calls an elderly woman's death murder, after she turned up dead inside a home on Martha Avenue Thursday morning.

Detectives say the woman was found around 7:30 a.m. in the 2100 block of Martha Avenue.  They tell us she was 85 years old, and that there was trauma to her body.  Police will not release her name yet, pending notification of the family.
