Freeport Police investigate overnight shooting

Freeport Police are investigating a shooting that landed one person in the hospital.

The incident happened around 3:30am in the 1300 block of South Oak Avenue. Police say one person was struck in the leg and taken to Freeport Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Rockford Memorial.

No guns or shell casings were recovered at the scene. Police are still looking into the incident.
