Going Green: National Indoor Plant Week

This week thousands of people across the country will receive a free plant in light of it being National Indoor Plant Week. Mark Martin of Interior Tropical Garden founded this week 6 years ago to raise awareness about the positive impact indoor plants have on our environment, health and morale.

For starters, indoor plants reduce CO2 and toxins. Martin claims they can even reduce your sick days, and increase your morale. He says, "the oxygen doesn't arrive, until the plants arrive."

Taking care of plants is overall easy--you just have to make sure you understand the instructions for the particular plant you own. Martin says you need to consider 3 things: water, light and temperature. The most common mistake is over watering your plant.
