Cliffbreakers hosted the Cheater's Spelling Bee tonight.
That is a brand new fundraiser to help support Family Counseling Services in Boone and Winnebago counties. First, teams of up to 6 people competed together. Anytime they got stuck, they could buy a "cheat" to move forward. Later in the night, people got to go against each other individually in a more traditional spelling bee.
Director of Family Counseling Services, Sue Razbadouski says, "It's this kind of fundraising that makes a big difference in being able to maintain services for the community. Especially in light of funding cuts that we've gotten."
Razbadouski adds the event was a success and they hope to hold it against next year.
