RVC's Thompson Heads to D1 School


Rock Valley College's Marion Thompson has signed a letter of intent to play basketball and attend school at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, a NCAA Division I school.

Thompson was a first team NJCAA All-American selection this past season after helping lead Rock Valley College to its first ever national title in women's basketball. She was also named to the NJCAA all-tournament team and was an all-region and first team all-conference selection this past season as a sophomore. She finished last season as the Golden Eagles third leading scorer (12.9 points per game), leader in rebounds (12.6 per game), and was second on the team with 45 blocked shots.
As a freshman in the 2010-2011 season, she was RVC's leader in rebounds with 9.9 per game, and leader in blocked shots with 35 on the season.
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is located in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and competes in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
