Rockford Public Schools held a community input meeting Thursday to discuss potential changes for the upcoming school year.
Along with the discussion of how to add more minority educators, school leaders discussed the success of its Parent Portal. The portal is an electronic system that allows parents to check the status of their children. It has been successful in secondary schools and will be rolled out to elementary schools this year.
However, the biggest concern for district officials was improving communication between the district and the people it serves.
Community input meetings are held once a month and are open to the public.
