UPDATED: Bank inside Rural Street Hilander robbed at gunpoint


Rockford Police have a person of interest in the case in custody on an unrelated warrant. The individual is being questioned by police and we will bring you more information as soon as we receive it.

Rockford Police are looking for two suspects after the BMO Harris Bank inside of the Hilander grocery store on Rural Street was robbed.

The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Police say a black male wearing a black ski mask and black clothing and armed with a black handgun robbed the bank. There were no injuries.

That suspect left the scene in a blue pick-up truck, drove a short distance, and then got into a tan or beige 2005 four-door Buick LeSabre with only three wheel covers. The driver of the Buick is described as a black male between the ages of 25 and 35, with braids in the back of his hair. He was wearing a dark blue and yellow shirt.

The suspects were last seen in the car headed west bound on 23rd Avenue from 11th Street. According to police, they are still at large.
