Rockford man wins a million playing Powerball - WREX.com – Rockford’s News Leader

We now know the name of the Rockford man, who won the lottery.  This was after the Powerball drawing on August 8th.

Bob Layeux heard from a friend that someone in Rockford won the drawing that night. He went home to check his ticket, and sure enough, it was him.  Layeux won $1 million and immediately called his daughter to have her double-check his ticket.  After that, he told the rest of his family. "They were pretty excited," Layeux said.  The new, already retired millionaire plans to buy a vacation home and invest the rest for his four grandson's education.  Layeux bought his winning ticket at the Logli on E. State Street.
