
A 19-year-old man has been sentenced to ten years in prison for robbing a Check'n Go Cash Store on North Mulford Road.
The incident occurred on August 12 of last year. According to an employee that was working behind the counter, two men walked into the store, walked around the back of the counter, and ordered them to open the cash drawers. One man grabbed money out of the drawers while the other kept a weapon pointed at the employee. The employee positively identified Karl Fort Jr. from a photo lineup as being one of the suspects.
Fort Jr. pled guilty to the robbery on July 11, 2012 and was sentenced to ten years in prison for armed robbery. Armed robbery is a Class X Felony with a sentencing range of six to 30 years in jail.
