Rockford man arrested on weapons charge

ROCKFORD (WREX) -

A search warrant at a home on 7th Avenue led to the arrest of a 32-year-old Rockford man on a weapons charge.

Officers from the Rockford Police Department's Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at 1523 7th Avenue. Inside the residence, officers located one adult male, one adult female, and four young children. A loaded .40 mm handgun was also found in the home.

The male occupant, Shawn D. Hart, was arrested for unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. He is currently on parole for a previous narcotics-related conviction.

No other charges were made.
