The Burpee Museum of Natural History is getting a rock and roll facelift this weekend.
Rick's Picks, an interactive exhibit that tells the story of Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen's passion for music and guitars opens to the public on August 11. In anticipation, the museum is hosting a VIP preview event Friday evening featuring Nielsen and several other sponsors.
The exhibit features guitars belonging to Nielsen and many of his famous friends, collectible personal items, stage clothing, and Cheap Trick memorabilia.
Admission to the exhibit includes admission to the museum. Visitors from outside of Rockford are $18, local residents are $15, and admission for Burpee Museum members is free to the museum and $3 to the exhibit.
The exhibit runs until April 10, 2013.
