After an extensive search by officials, Montero Badera-Aguilar has been located. He was found in a cornfield north of Thomson at approximately 12:30 p.m. and had extensive injuries.

Badera-Aguilar was transported to Mercy North Hospital in Clinton. Charges are pending and the incident is still under investigation.

The Carroll County Sheriff's Department is looking for a man believed to be involved in a crash that killed an elderly man.

The investigation shows a vehicle driven by Earl (Junior) Lashelle, 80, crossed the centerline on Illinois Route 84 just north of Three Mile Road and slammed into a vehicle driven by Montero Badera-Aguilar, 27.

Lashelle died after being taken to Mercy Medical Center in Clinton, Iowa.

Aguilar fled the scene and was last seen entering a cornfield near the area known as Krazy Acres.

The accident happened around 2:00 p.m. Wednesday. Police searched for eight hours, but were unable to find Aguilar.
