UPDATED: Police investigating body found in Ingersoll Memorial Park


An autopsy carried out by the Winnebago County Coroner's Office showed no suspicious cause of death. According to Winnebago County Coroner Sue Fiduccia, the man died of natural causes. The office is not releasing the man's name.

Rockford Park District Police and the Rockford Police Department are investigating the discovery of a man's body at Ingersoll Memorial Park.

The body of a male between the ages of 55 and 60 was discovered at the park around 12:30 p.m. Monday by a park employee. Investigators say there is no indication of foul play. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
