Kids in Belvidere learned the value of saving money during a camp put on by the YMCA and Generations Credit Union.
Almost 60 kids from age five to 11 played money-related games and participated in activities such as making their own canister bank. They also heard a presentation by Generations Credit Union Member Services Manager Denise Leonard.
Generations Credit Union will donate $20 to the Belvidere YMCA's Strong Kids Campaign for every camper who opens a savings account with a minimum of $25.50. The offer extends to any other YMCA member as well.
