Cynthia Bounleutay went to playoff holes for the 2nd straight day in the Rockford Women's Golf Classic. For the 2nd straight day, she emerged victorious.
Bounleutay won the 86th annual tournament by beating Boylan senior Melissa VanSistine on their 19th hole.
Bounleutay has played in this tournament many times. She finally gets the elusive win.
"It feels so good," Bounleutay said. "I've tried for so long but I probably was too young. So winning it this year feels so good."
Bounleutay hit a birdie on 16 to take a one hole lead on VanSistine. But VanSistine answered by winning 17 to tie it up heading into the final hole.
Both young golfers hit par on 18, which forced the playoff hole, where Bounleutay won by hitting a short a putt.
