Crusader receives $40,000 grant from Blue Cross and Blue Shield


A health educator will join the team at Crusader Community Health thanks to a grant from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois.

The $40,000 grant will pay for the position of a health educator who will educate and counsel patients at Crusader on healthy lifestyles and disease management. The goal of the position is to improve the lives of patients suffering from diabetes and heart disease.

"We are proud to support Crusader Community Health," Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois Director of Community Health Initiatives, Clarita Santos, said. "Our mission is to promote the health and wellness of our members and our communities through accessible, cost-effective, quality health care. By supporting organizations like Crusader Community Health, we are able to reach out to the people most in need."
