ROCKFORD, IL – To celebrate the kick-off of the ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge, Winnebago County Animal Services is reducing the adoption fee for adult cats and dogs from Thursday, August 2, 2012 through Wednesday, August 8, 2012. The adoption fee for cats one year and older is $5 and dogs one year and older is $50. Limit one adoption per household at the reduced fee. Winnebago County Animal Services also extends this offer to its off-site adoption centers located in the Machesney Park Petsmart and the Roscoe Aqualand Pet Center.
All adoptions include a free wellness exam, spay or neuter, microchip, vaccinations, flea and tick preventative, worming, and bag of food. All adult dogs are heartworm tested and Winnebago County residents receive a one year rabies tag. Winnebago County Animal Services currently has over 60 cats and 50 dogs for adoption.
This adoption promotion is being sponsored by the Winnebago County Animal Services Volunteer Auxiliary.
To be eligible for grant money from the $100K Challenge, Winnebago County Animal Services must save 300 more lives than they did in 2011. Lives saved include adoptions and lost animals returned to their owners.
To help Winnebago County Animal Services reach this goal, adopt a companion animal or reclaim your lost pet at 4517 N. Main Street in Rockford. Call 815-319-4100 or visit their website at www.wcasrock.org.
