Man sets out on 70 mile journey to raise disability awareness

Posted: Updated:

A young man with cerebral palsy starts a roadside journey for a good cause.

25-year-old C.J. Campbell is traveling from Rockford to Evanston, Ill. He's doing it to raise money for the Over the Rainbow Association, a non-profit organization that offers housing and employment opportunities to people with disabilities. The group has seven apartment complexes throughout the state, including in Rockford where Campbell lives. He says his goal is about more than just raising funds. "What I'm more concerned with is raising awareness of the plight of the vulnerable and people who necessarily can't fight for themselves."

Campbell's route is about 70 miles.
