Rockford Tea Party's concealed carry push gains momentum

The Rockford Tea Party says it is fast approaching 9,000 signatures in favor of a concealed carry ordinance.

The party is trying to get the ordinance passed by the Winnebago County Board.

"I'm especially proud that we reached out to a diverse cross-section of Winnebago County population. The community is really coming together on this realistic solution to local crime," said Co-Coordinator of the Rockford Tea PartyBob Mlsna.

"For the most part people are really on board with this initiative and are extremely well informed on the subject.," said Rockford Tea Party Coordinator David Hale. "This is not just a passing fancy of the general public. It is of real significance to everyone who has signed."

The Rockford Tea Party plans to present its petitions to the Winnebago County Board on August 9.
